Challenge #32

The Scene

A great oak tree sways in a strong breeze from the north, it's great branches arching all around, nearly to the ground. From one branch a rope is suspended.
The Rules

1. Who are they? What is going on? Why are they where they are?
2. You may use any POV you like.
3. There can be no more than three characters in the scene
4. Fear and dread are the strongest emotions in the scene
5. You can't leave the location in any way
6. Can you get 1667 words?

Challenge #31

The Scene

A young man is wandering through a grave yard. He is searching for something. It is midnight.

The Rules

1. Who are they? What is going on? Why are they where they are?
2. You must use 1st person P.O.V.
3. There must be the sound of rusty hinges.
4. You must introduce at least one other character of any sex.
5. You must convey fear without using the word fear in any form.
6. 500 words minimum

Challenge #30

The Scene

An empty house situated at the end of a long winding dirt road, surrounded by woods. A black cat sits on the porch rail. A woman approaches carefully as the yard is scattered with a variety of debris.

The Rules

1. Who are they? What is going on? Why are they where they are?
2. Use 3rd person P.O.V.
3. There must be an owl somewhere in the story.
4. You must introduce two other characters of any sex.
5. At least one person must be from Alabama.
6. It is 6:00 p.m.
